Car Seats
Car seats are legally required for any baby in an automobile. Do not buy a used car seat. It may not meet current safety requirements. Ideally a parent should purchase this vital accessory several months before giving birth. During that time parents should make sure they understand exactly how to use it. Small babies should face backwards until they reach a certain weight.
A backward position lessens the chances of injury during a crash. If a parent should get into a crash, they should discard the seat and buy a new one. The seat may have cracks that are not visible and could compromise a child’s safety.

A changing table is a nice addition to any nursery. Changing tables typically have a washable pad, a pullout drawer underneath and lots of storage. A changing table is a good item for a parent who plans to spend lots of time at home.
If the nursery is on the smaller side this may not be ideal because it can take up lots of space. Many parents find that a simple clean and washable pad works just as well.
