There are many possible morning sickness remedies that women can try, although if morning sickness becomes severe, it's important to seek medical attention.

According to an expert from “Child Birth Solutions,” morning sickness affects approximately half of all pregnant women. Unluckily, there is no cure for morning sickness. It can be difficult to deal with and some women have little to no luck finding morning sickness relief. However, there are many various morning sickness remedies and if one fails, women can move on to another in order to try and find relief. It is most common for women to experience morning sickness during early pregnancy, as after the fourth month it most often begins to subside.

Morning Sickness Remedies

Some pregnancies cause a little morning nausea and some others cause "all day morning sickness." Every person reacts different to pregnancy. However, there are many potential morning sickness remedies to try and each remedy may work differently for each pregnancy, or individual. Some of the most common remedies include:

  • Eating a few saltine crackers or pretzels before getting out of bed in the morning
  • Eating a cracker each time you get up during the night to use the restroom
  • Carrying fruit, cheese or salty foods and snacking throughout the day
  • Eating high protein foods before bedtime
  • Keeping fresh lemon nearby and sniffing the lemon peels when feeling nauseous
  • Taking one tablespoon of vinegar and one tablespoon of apple cider before bed
  • Avoiding using perfumes and being around strong odors
  • Eating small bites of ginger bread snaps or cookies (must be real ginger)
  • Taking vitamin B6
  • Wearing motion sickness bands on wrists
  • Receiving a massage with chamomile massage oil
  • Chewing gum

One of the main goals for finding morning sickness relief is to never let the stomach become empty. When the stomach gets empty, many women experience dizziness and vomiting.

Severe Morning Sickness

If women feel as though their morning sickness has become unbearable or has caused them to lose weight, it’s important to visit the doctor for possible treatment. Some women have no luck finding any morning sickness relief. Severe morning sickness can cause dehydration and this can be extremely dangerous for both the mother and her unborn infant.

For women who experience severe morning sickness, to the point where they can’t keep water or any substance down for long periods, this may be detrimental to their health, as well as their unborn infant’s health. It’s essential to seek medical attention if women believe that their morning sickness has become too severe.

Cure for Morning Sickness

Unfortunately, there is no specific cure for morning sickness. However, if women find no morning sickness relief and feel as though the condition is affecting their health, it’s possible to be prescribed a medication such as Zofran, in order to stop morning sickness.
