I read about Laura49 and that she was worried about her unborn child due to her diagnosis with LCP. I was also diagnosed with LCP when I was 6 and gave birth to a perfectly healthy boy two years ago when I was 23. There was a little discomfort (okay, more than a little, but it was bareable.) after labor because of the pain medication covering up my sense of true range of motion in my hip. As far as my child, he is full of life and healthy as can be. Labor and delivery for me was not difficult and I had no complications. I even worked full time up until the day I gave birth.

I don't know anything about Perthes' disease but it sounds quite painful. However what you say about pain medication masking the range of motion in your hips is common even with women who don't have physical limitations. That is why it is crucial to NOT push the mother's legs too far back when she has an epidural.
