When I had my first son I perm my hair all the time. I was about 24 and did I not know anything about babies or being healthy doing a pregnancy. My son was a very fussy baby when he was born. He was always crying and throwing up. I would change his diaper every hour(text book baby). My second son, I was very caution, I ate healthy,I did not perm my hair. I breastfead my son and spent alot of time with him. I am on my third child, my husband wants a girl because we have two boys. It does not matter to me, I just want it to be healthy.

It's very hard to know whether or not chemicals from perms could affect a baby's behavior or not. We do know that what we are exposed to DOES reach the baby, we just don't know exactly how much or in what way some of those chemicals can be harmful.

I am glad you are aware now and being careful to do everything YOU can do to have a healthy baby - boy or girl ;)
