» mtclopez - Fear of CT Scan Effect

I'm not sure if I'm pregnant. I stopped taking pills last January because my OB said that was a chance cysts in my breasts could continue to enlarge. I had my last menstruation starting Jan 31. My husband and I practiced the rhythym method since I stopped taking pills. I've also started working out at the gym since Feb 9, using the treadmill and weight machines thrice a week. Last week, I had light brown spottings and there was even a day I discharged a small piece of flesh (about a thumbsized piece). I took a pregnancy test this morning but it turned out negative. I had brown, light spotting again today. I'm not sure if I'm pregnant but I'm scared if I am because I had a head/neck/heart/abdomen/colonoscopy CT Scan last Feb 15. If I were pregnant, what effect would the CT scan have on my baby?

This is a better question for your doctor or midwife. Both ultrasound and x-rays have limited if any harmful effects on the baby unless they are done in excessive amounts or with repeated exposure. I would ask your primary provider however, if you are concerned.

Do you have any other pregnancy signs? Maybe your body is still trying to get back a normal cycle again after being on the pill. That is common.
