» mere1438 - how to induce labor

I'm 38 weeks and I'm wondering about naturally inducing labor with castor oil or blue/black cohosh. Anyone tried it??? Did it work well???

In response to how to induce labor posted by mere1438:

Some people mix castor oil with orange juice or scramble with eggs. Blue/black cohosh can stimulate contractions and is available in a tincture in your health food stores.

Neither one tends to work well unless your cervix is ripe and you are over due.

Both methods should be approved by your Ob or midwife.
