I am 9 weeks pregnant due april of 2008 I will be 28 years old. I will also be a single mother. I use to always say I did not want to give birth naturaly and I wanted all the drugs I could get. But after my gall bladder surgery and the management of the pain with the minimal pain medication I decided I might be tougher than I thought. I watch a baby story on TLC and watch the natural vs the medicated. All all seem to be in pain. Some less than others in both ways. I have decided to go into this with the idea I will be doing it natrual I am preparing for it natural. But if something were to change I will leave my options open for medicated. or c-section. I will be prepaired for any option that may happen sometimes you have no control over complications that may arise.

You are right that you can't control the circumstances of your labor. The nice thing about making a decision to try other things in labor is that you can always change your mind if your circumstances change.

I just came from a birth recently where the mother was going to try her best to have natural childbirth and amazed even herself by doing it! She even told me afterwards that it was not as difficult as she imagined it would be.
