» jcobsmommy - 3 Fast Labor stories (wow)

In response to 3 Fast Labor stories (wow) posted by precipitous3:

i just posted my own story then i saw yours. I am a first time mom. With my son I labored for an hour 1/2 and i had about 30 minutes of pushing and he was out. my water broke at 7:30 am then i started having very mild contractions 1 minute apart. they got strong very fast though. I got to the hospital at 8 and by 9 i was at 10 cm. It's good to hear stories like this from other people. I actually had a very bad experience at the hospital though. the nurse didn't come in to put the monitors on me until 8:30 because she thought i would be in labor all day (so did i) and the only reason she came then is because i asked for someone twice. she was very rude to me. it really upsets me even thinking about it. i know it's rare to give birth so quickly but they have to take precautions and listen to their patients. i told them 3 times that my water broke and my contractions were 1 minute apart. then my nurse had the nerve to tell my mother-in-law that my contractions were actually 2-3 minutes apart and it was gonna be a while (this was at 8:55 am--5 minutes before i started pushing) anyways, my husband and i want to start trying again but i am afraid that next time i might not make it to the hospital in time. was it really scary giving birth somewhere besides the hospital??
