» AJ160 - Weight gain

HI! I am new to this forum and was wondering how much people were gaining as an average. I've gained 25 pounds and am at 26 weeks. (also include if your weight was Within average before preg. or overweight, etc..)
Also, In the last trimester is it true that most women don't gain any weight in the last month and tend to lose a few pounds? Thanks everyone!

I can answer from my own perspective and then others can join in. Just remember that weight gain is individual. I actually gained the most weight in my 4th month of pregnancy (10 pounds) since I finally wanted to eat.

I also gained a total of 45 pounds and 42 pounds respectively during my two pregnancies, regardless of what I ate or how much exercise I got.

The most important thing is NOT how much you gain. It is WHAT are you eating! :-) Thankfully many doctors and midwives are getting away from restricting weight gain to harsh, imposing limits which can actually create a bad dietary situation for mothers.

You are well within normal - consult a nutritionalist who specializes in pregnancy if you are concerned about not eating properly. But really - eat healthy - not with an eye on the scale! :-D
